Grow and Expand to Provide Better Service

In 2015, we were active in 11 cities in three states (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco) helping almost 17,000 families and 27,000 children, always providing knowledge, information and care for a healthier life.

For the 5th consecutive year, all our numbers were duly endorsed by BDO RCS Auditores Independentes who audits our financial numbers.

We expanded the dissemination of our work. With our new, more modern (tiramos também do português) and dynamic website, we are not only awakening interest in a new public, but also providing educators, parents and people who already have the institute as an important reference for their daily lives with more information on important themes connected to children.

Our presence on Facebook has also been growing. From May 2015 to April 2016 (1st half), growth in the number of likes on our page was 45%. To encourage even more participation by educators in electronic media, we produce bookmarks that indicate our page on the social media and our website. They are being distributed during our training sessions.

In addition, production of short videos with testimonials and images of children and educators participating in our projects has been another efficient way to share our results, giving voice to those most interested. Here you can watch our latest video:

Highlight

Launched for the first time last year as a pilot project, the Crescer com Valores (Growing Up with Values) – 10 to 12 years of age project was the main highlight of 2015. After great acceptance, it has already been expanded to almost 3,000 children. Respect, effort, gratitude, courage, serenity and determination are among the values taught by the project through four modules by means of 30 different activities.

“Our Crescer com Valores (Growing Up with Values) project has been very well accepted and I am very happy to see how much it has helped educators rethink their own values and their role in educating their children. Our country is experiencing a crisis of values in its politics that is a terrible example for our children. Being able to multiply these concepts with such acceptance is very gratifying” – Regina Stella Schwandner, Managing Director of the Institute.

Expansion

To grow also means to expand. That is why in 2016 our public will be expanded. For 20 years our work has focused on children from 0 to 12 years of age. Starting this year, a new age group, from 13 to 15 years of age, will fall within our scope of work. As a result of this change, our logo even gained a new inscription – “Children and Adolescents”. We are always striving to do more and do it better for all.

Novo Logo

To begin this work focused on adolescents, meeting a demand of the institutions, the first project is Sex Education. We are working on preventing teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, but the major emphasis is on themes such as self-knowledge, self-esteem, relationships, respect for oneself and adversities, and the importance of having a life project. The pilot project was already tested last year and in 2016 we are beginning the large-scale multiplication stage. This means even more work ahead and the certainty of even better results. We are looking forward to the next 20 years!
